Vitamins – Do They Shorten Our Lives? By David Getoff.
David Getoff, CCN, CTN, FAAIM, tells the students in his class that one 2,400iu softgel is beneficial for most people, but only lab testing can determine how much is needed daily in order to hold a person’s blood level in the sweet spot between 55 and 80 ng/ml (U.S. values). Take the 24 (OH) Vitamin D test every 3 months while increasing the dose by one of the 2,400iu softgels until the lab results show that you are between 55 and 80. Then that is your daily amount, but it is always best to consult with your Healthcare Practitioner.
Your Healthcare Practitioner can order the 24 (OH) Vitamin D test or you can order it yourself through the Vitamin D Council. They are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in California, United States and their mission is to educate patients, families, doctors and health professionals on vitamin D and safe, sensible sun exposure to improve the quality and longevity of lives.
